The Volvo ES90 has officially launched in Mzansi. Here’s how much the Swedish marque’s flagship all-electric sedan costs in South Africa…
Locally, the Volvo ES90 is exclusively available with the Swedish automaker’s Single Motor powertrain. The single electric motor setup, coupled with a 92 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, produces 245 kW and 480 N.m of torque. Volvo claims the rear-wheel-drive emissions-free sedan completes the obligatory 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds. The top speed is rated at 180 km/h.
The Single Motor setup has a claimed energy consumption of 13.5 kWh, while an operating range of up to 755 km is on offer from a full charge. Plugged into a 350 kW DC fast charging station, thanks to the ES90’s 800 V electric architecture, 10 minutes add 300 km of range.
