Evoluto’s F355 restomod is a masterclass in analogue awesomeness

In the world of reimagined classics, there are several companies that produce exquisitely re-engineered vehicles of old. For many, Singer Vehicle Design, with its iconic Porsche recreations, is arguably the first name to jump to mind. However, if you favour Ferrari, Evoluto Automobili might just be your best bet. Indeed, the UK firm recently whipped the covers off the 355 by Evoluto … and it could just be the best reimagined Ferrari F355 to date.

Based on the Maranello manufacturer’s iconic supercar, the 355 by Evoluto is a masterclass in analogue awesomeness. Not only does it reimagined the original supercar’s exterior (we’ll get to that in a moment), but it retains the sonorous V8, which (purists rejoice!) Is coupled with a six-speed (gated!) manual transmission. However, for the reimagined F355, Evoluto Automobili has cranked up the high-revving petrol engine’s peak power output to 313 kW, which is available until the pleasingly analogue rev needle edges the eardrum-rattling red line of 8 500 r/min.

However, the company has done much more to the naturally aspirated powertrain than just increasing its outputs… More than 200 engine components are either brand-new or redesigned. According to the brand, “The thoroughly reworked powertrain provides increased power, response and 21st-century reliability.”

Bringing the exterior up to contemporary standards, renowned designer Ian Callum, who was responsible for the design of cars such as the Aston Martin Vanquish and Jaguar C-X75, had a hand in the reimagined classic’s design, which is undoubtedly eye-catching. The remastered, “more muscular” design blends iconic features, such as pop-up headlamps (which has been revised and handed daytime-running lights, no less), with modern elements. The 355 by Evoluto’s bodywork wraps around a set of 19-inch alloys.

“The [F]355 was iconic in 1995, now 30 years later, we’ve re-engineered it to OEM standards, utilising contemporary technology and materials to create a car that comes alive when driven hard. In a world dominated by turbochargers, hybrids, electronic gears, and multi-stage dampers, Evoluto’s Peak Analogue philosophy breathes new life into this classic 355, delivering an engaging driving experience that’s unparalleled today,” said Amjad Ali, Technical Director of Evoluto Automobili.
