Porsche 911 Carrera T We slipped into the leathery cabins of a pair of new Carrera Ts – that’s the seven speed manual and the optional PDK if we were in the mood to let the Porsche shift itself. Both were sublime but the one with three pedals, despite having the same engine as the base car felt alive in our hands. Primal. Visceral.
We went chasing the snow over Franshhoek Pass. In the fastest of fashions. We ate up hundreds of kilometres as quickly as we could savour them. At a 100 grand premium over the base car it is hard to justify a model where the only thing added is the 20kg that was deleted. But the 911 Carrera T does it without skipping a beat. It howls, it scythes, with its hand it runs its fingers up your spine. Then thrusts it into your shorts.
