Changan Uni-S launches in SA

The Changan Uni-S has officially launched in Mzansi, with the Chinese automaker revealing pricing and specs for the latest member in its South African vehicle portfolio.

Joining Changan South Africa’s line-up, the Uni-S is available with the choice of three trim grades: CS, CL, and CE. Included as standard with each level of specification are a 12.8-inch, touch-enabled infotainment system, replete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone screen mirroring; a 540-degree surround-view camera system; and LED headlights.

Further included with the entry-level, CS-spec model are ventilated front pews, automatic air conditioning, a four-speaker sound system, cruise control and four airbags. Mid-tier, CL spec upgrades to a 10.25-inch digital instrumentation display, six-way power adjustment for the driver’s pew, leather trim for the multifunction steering wheel and seats, six airbags and an array of additional advanced driver assistance systems — the latter including adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keep and lane departure warning.

Spearheading the local Changan Uni-S model range, the CE-spec derivative features memory functionality for the pilot’s pew, while the front passenger’s item gains four-way power adjustment, and an electrically operated tailgate. CE grade further gains an audio system with eight speakers, a panoramic sunroof, and blind-spot monitoring.
