GWM P300 South African model line-up and specifications
At launch, the GWM P300 model line-up comprises a trio of double-cab derivatives, available with the choice of two trim grades — LT and LTD.
As standard, all variants ship with 7.0-inch digital instrumentation; 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment, which incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring; wireless smartphone charging; heated and ventilated, leather-upholstered front seats; a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, replete with heating functionality; ambient lighting; and a 360-degree surround-view camera system. Driver assistance systems include blind-spot monitoring and lane-change assist. LT and LTD variants include six and seven airbags, respectively.
In addition to the aforementioned convenience and safety items, the LTD derivative gains several off-road accessories and equipment. Among other items, the latter includes a snorkel, a winch and all-terrain rubber.
GWM P300 engine and transmission
At launch, the three-strong range is powered by the Chinese automaker’s 2.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged oil-burner, exclusively coupled with a nine-speed automatic cog swapper. The diesel motor churns out 135 kW and 480 N.m of torque, the full complement of which is available from a lowly 1 500 r/min in the rev band. A duo of drivetrains — 2WD and 4WD — is available.

How much does the GWM P300 cost in South Africa
The current line-up is priced from R599 900 to R699 900. A seven-year/75 000 km service plan and a warranty spanning seven years or 200 000 km are included with each model’s asking price.
