Updated Ford Everest arrives in Mzansi: Price, specs and more

Following the launch of the refreshed Ford Ranger bakkie, Ford South Africa has introduced the updated Everest model range to Mzansi. Here’s pricing and specs for the revised model range…

The updated local Ford Everest line-up comprises five derivatives, available with the choice of four trim lines and a duo of engine options, both of the latter exclusively coupled with the Blue Oval brand’s familiar 10-speed automatic transmission.

Starting with the spec levels, the refreshed range can be had in newly introduced Active, which replaces XLT, and familiar Sport, Wildtrak and Platinum. Among several other items, this is what each trim grade includes…on top of each other.

  • Active: 12-inch touchscreen infotainment; wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto; 8.0-inch digital driver’s display; wireless smartphone charging; keyless entry and start; fabric-upholstered front seats; eight-way electric adjustment and four-way manual adjustment for driver’s and front passenger seats, respectively; adaptive cruise control; lane-keep assist; LED headlamps; 18-inch alloy wheels.
  • Sport: model-specific exterior trim elements; 20-inch alloy wheels; 360-degree surround-view camera; eight-way electric adjustment for front passenger seat; tyre pressure monitoring; blind-spot monitoring; electrically operated tailgate; leather trim for steering wheel, gear lever, and seats; 400 W inverter.
  • Wildtrak: Wildtrak-specific elements, inside and out; new Ignite Orange paint option; raised roof rails; matrix LED headlamps; premium leather seats; adjustable ambient lighting; dual-panel sunroof; electrically folding third-row seats.
  • Platinum: Platinum-specific appointments; 21-inch alloy wheels; Ford’s Pro Trailer Back-up Assist; 10-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating and cooling functionality; heated steering wheel; 12-speaker Bang & Olufson sound system; 12-inch LCD driver’s display.

How much does the updated Ford Everest cost in South Africa?

Locally, the updated Everest line-up is priced from R825 000 for the Active derivative employing a 4×2 drivetrain (the 4×4 will set you back R50 000 more) to R1 340 000 for the Everest Platinum range-topper. Positioned between the duo of Active variants and the Platinum model, the Sport- and Wildtrak-spec Everest variants are priced from R1 149 000 and R1 244 000, respectively.

Available with 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains, the Active’s 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel produces 125 kW and 405 N.m of torque. The 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 oil-burner employed by the rest of the range produces 184 kW and 600 N.m, and is coupled with a 4WD setup.
