Updated Audi Q7 model line-up in South Africa
Locally, the Ingolstadt-based brand’s Q7 portfolio comprises a duo of 55 TFSI quattro derivatives, the Platinum Edition and Black Edition, with the SQ7 penned in to make landfall on local shores in January 2025.
The 55 TFSI-badged variants employ a 3.0-litre V6. The turbocharged petrol unit churns out 250 kW and 500 N.m of torque, the latter of which is available from a mere 1 350 r/min to 4 500 r/min. Power is sent to all four corners via the company’s eight-speed Tiptronic transmisison. Audi claims the 3.0-litre powertrain sips, on average, 9.9 L/100 km. The 55 TFSI dispatches the obligatory 0-100 km/h sprint in a claimed 5.6 seconds, before topping out at an electronically governed maximum speed of 250 km/h.
Spearheading the model line-up, the SQ7 is equipped with a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine. The twin-turbocharged unit produces a healthy 373 kW and 770 N.m of torque, which, the automaker says, is good for a 0-100 km/h sprint time of “just” 4.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
