In collaboration with Hot Wheels, Mattel has announced its Mattel Brick Shop collection. Here’s what you can expect…
Mattel Brick Shop’s first Hot Wheels building sets will be available in three series: Hot Wheels Speed Series, Hot Wheels Elite Series and Hot Wheels Premium Series, each comprising scale models inspired by real-life vehicles and original Hot Wheels models.

In addition, each model in the respective series was designed to provide enthusiasts with an immersive building experience. And, when each part has been clicked together, the Mattel’s Brick Shop products will make for spectacular display pieces.
The Hot Wheels Speed Series was made for thrill seekers and comprises brick-built models of a Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar, Maserati MC20 and Custom ’68 Camaro. Each set, designed for ages 10 and up, is priced at £21.99 (R532.32).
Designed for petrolheads from as young as 10 years old, the Hot Wheels Elite Series includes a Corvette Grand Sport, ’90 Acura NSX and Custom ’62 Chevy Pickup. Each Hot Wheels Elite Series set is priced at £44.99 (R1 089.09).
The Hot Wheels Premium Series was specially designed with collectors, aged 17 and up, in mind. Initially, this series will only comprise a single model — a Mattel Brick Shop-reimagined Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, which, noteworthy, is assembled from metal parts. This 1:12-scale 300 SL is priced at £136.99, or R3 316.17 at the current Rand-Pound exchange rate. Like each set, a 1:64-scale die-cast version is included in the package.

“Hot Wheels has fuelled the passion of car enthusiasts for generations, and with Mattel Brick Shop, we’re giving fans an entirely new way to engage with their favourite vehicles,” said Roberto Stanichi, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Vehicles and Building Sets at Mattel.
“This Hot Wheels collection by Mattel Brick Shop delivers what car fans have been clamouring for: buildable vehicles that deliver true car authenticity. Our design team meticulously recreated these vehicles in brick form while preserving what made them great in the first place, including real metal parts and a matching exclusive die-cast, giving fans a new way to collect, build and play.”
