The refreshed Ford Territory has arrived in Mzansi. Here’s what you need to know about the updated lineup…
The updated Ford Territory employs the same 1.8-litre EcoBoost engine as the pre-facelifted model. As a reminder, the four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit produces 138 kW and 318 N.m of torque — the former and latter available from 5 200 r/min and 1 750 r/min, respectively. Power is exclusively delivered to the road via a front-wheel drivetrain, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The powertrain features a quartet of driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport and Mountain — the latter for optimising traction on uneven surfaces such as gravel.
Ford claims the Territory’s EcoBoost powertrain sips, on average, 7.4 L/100 km. Matching the company’s claim translates to a driving range of over 800 km from a single, full 60-litre tank of fuel.

The Territory’s bodywork spans 4 685 mm long, front to rear, 1 935 mm in width, and 1 706 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2 726 mm in length. The ground clearance is rated at 190 mm. Ambiente and Trend derivatives roll on 18-inch wheels, while the Titanium model is equipped with a set of 19-inch items.
Housed within a single panel, the interior plays host to dual 12.3-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment, respectively. The touchscreen infotainment system incorporates wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone screen mirroring. A first for the Territory, the refreshed model is offered with Ford App connectivity, which allows owners to lock/unlock their vehicle, schedule remote start times, monitor vehicle status and receive vehicle health alerts from their smartphone. Ford claims a boot capacity of 448 litres, which expands to 1 422 litres when folding down the rear backrests.
