Showcasing Jaguar’s bold new visual identity, the British legacy marque has revealed the Type 00, a design concept previewing what’s to come from Jaguar in the near future — the first model in the Coventry-based automaker’s portfolio of “reimagined” Jaguar production cars.

Unveiled at Miami Art Week, the company presented the Type 00 in two hues: Satin Rhodon Rose — dubbed Miami Pink as a nod to the pastel colours of Miami’s Art Deco architecture — and Inception Silver Blue, which, billed London Blue, references the carmaker’s British heritage.
The Type 00 features an elongated bonnet and in-vogue roofline. The car’s sculpted bodywork wraps around a set of 23-inch alloy wheels. The Type 00’s butterfly doors further add drama to the car.

The car’s cabin is minimalistic. Two digital displays — sited before the driver and front passenger, respectively — is originally hidden in the dashboard, and deploys when necessary.
Jaguar Type 00 is an example of Jaguar at its best. A fearless statement. An object of desire.
“Jaguar is no place for ordinary. When you see a new Jaguar for the first time, it must have a sense of awe, of never having been seen before. Type 00 commands attention, like all the best Jaguars of the past. It has a dramatic presence, channelling a unique spirit of British creativity and originality. It celebrates art and embodies the essence of ‘Exuberant Modernism’.”

Said Prof. Gerry McGovern OBE, Chief Creative Officer at JLR, “Type 00 is a pure expression of Jaguar’s new creative philosophy. It has an unmistakable presence. This is the result of brave, unconstrained creative thinking, and unwavering determination. It is our first physical manifestation and the foundation stone for a new family of Jaguars that will look unlike anything you’ve ever seen — a vision which strives for the highest level of artistic endeavour.”
“The magic of Jaguar is close to my heart — an original British luxury brand unmatched in its heritage, artistry and emotional magnetism. That’s the Jaguar we are recapturing, and we will create the same sense of awe that surrounded iconic models like the E-type. Our journey is already underway, guided by our original ethos to ‘Copy Nothing’, and the results will be spectacular,” said Adrian Mardell, JLR’s Chief Executive Officer.

The production car previewed by the Type 00 will come in the shape of a four-seater GT, which will be emissions-free, as all the Jaguars we can expect in the future. Based on the firm’s dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture platform, the car has a targeted electric range of 770 km.
