Revered as one of the greatest drivers to ever compete in F1, Senna left an indelible mark on F1, with the Brazilian driver claiming 41 race wins and three world titles during his tenure at the McLaren F1 racing outfit in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.

The iconic F1 driver’s red Honda NSX, which is currently owned by Robert McFagan from East Sussex and has become available to purchase, holds a special place among Senna’s collection.

‘I first bought the car in 2013 during a trip to the Algarve in Portugal and have owned it ever since … It has sat proudly at my estate in East Sussex,” said McFagan. “Being a huge Senna fan myself, I was delighted when I was able to get my hands on the NSX … It’s been a real pleasure owning what is one of the most famous cars belonging to a true sporting legend and the thrill of driving Senna’s car never goes away.”

This particular NSX was kept at Senna’s Portuguese residence. Among the many photos of him, there’s even one, which was captured in 1991, of him washing the red NSX. In addition, this particular NSX also made an appearance in the film Racing is in my Blood. Senna owned two other NSXs, one of which was gifted to him by his manager Antonio Braga.

As part of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Senna’s passing in 2019, this example was driven by Giancarlo Minardi, founder of the now-defunct Minardi F1 team, at the Imola circuit.
