This year, Audi South Africa has introduced to its line-up a raft of new special-edition variants, with the local arm of the Ingolstadt-based brand handing an array of models — ranging from the A3 and S3 to the Q2 and Q3 — the Black Edition treatment. Now, following the positive response from customers to these derivatives (especially the latter crossover/SUV), Audi SA has recently added to its Q3 model range Urban Edition versions, which, like the Audi’s specified with the Black Edition package, are aimed at offering South African consumers “even better value for money and increased convenience when specifying their new vehicles”.
“The process of creating this special-edition collection began with understanding which styling details and comfort features our customers seek most. This resulted in the Black Editions and Urban Editions,” said Asif Hoosen, Head of Sales and Planning at Audi SA.
Hoosen added: “While our vehicles are an important part of what Audi customers desire, it was also important to us to ensure that the financial offers around these vehicles provide as much value for our customers as the vehicles themselves. That’s where the specially crafted Audi Assured offers for these models are really compelling.”

So, what can you expect from the Q3 Urban Edition and Q3 Sportback Urban Edition? Well, for starters, let’s look at the pricing: the former model is priced from R791 780, while latter will set you back R817 470. Pricing includes a warranty spanning five years or 100 000 km, and a one-year/unlimited km maintenance plan. Now, on to the standard kit included with the Urban Edition Q3s…
As standard, the Q3 Urban Edition derivatives ship with a panoramic sunroof, Audi’s Parking aid Plus system, a reverse-view camera, keyless entry and start, and an electric tailgate. Both models ride on 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Urban Edition pack is available with the 35 TFSI-badged Q3 models. As such, these variants are equipped with the German marque’s 1.4-litre, four-cylinder, turbopetrol engine, which sends 110 kW and 250 N.m of torque exclusively to the front axle via the firm’s familiar seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox.
