The finalists in each category of this year’s instalment of the World Car Awards have been announced.
The categories are World Urban Car, World Luxury Car, World Electric Vehicle, World Performance Car, World Car design of the Year and, of course, World Car of the Year. Three vehicles are competing for top honours in each of the respective categories.
So, six categories, three finalists in each; here’s the vehicles vying for top honours at the World Car Awards 2024.

Before moving on to the World Car Design of the Year 2024 finalists, let’s take a look at how the nominations were determines. So, to decide which vehicle will make the list of finalists and, then, finally be awarded the honour of World Car Design of the Year 2024, six highly respected design experts was asked to review each candidate and establish a short-list of recommendations for the jurors’ final vote.
So, who were the design experts. Well, they are Gert Hildebrand, owner of Hildebrand-Design; Patrick le Quément, designer and President of the Strategy Committee at The Sustainable Design School; Tom Matano from the Academy of Art University and former Head of Design at Mazda; Victor Nacif, Chief Creative Officer at Brojure.com and Design instructor at NewSchool of Architecture and Design; Shiro Nakamura, CEO of Shiro Nakamura Design Associates Inc.; and Frank Stephenson, founder of Frank Stephenson Design.
