The updated Audi Q7 has launched in Mzansi. Here’s what you can expect. See pricing below…
At launch, the updated Q7 is available with the choice of two petrol powertrains (a diesel derivative will join the local range at a later stage). The 55 TFSI variant employs a 3.0-litre V6 producing 250 kW and 500 N.m of torque, the latter of which available from a mere 1 350 r/min to 4 500 r/min. Power is sent to the front and rear axle via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Audi claims the 55 TFSI’s peak power and torque figures allow the six-pot Q7 to complete the 0-100 km/h dash in 5.6 seconds, before topping out at an electronically governed 250 km/h. The average fuel consumption is rated at 9.9 L/100 km.

With a firing order of 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8, the SQ7’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine produces a healthy 373 kW and 770 N.m of twisting force for a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.1 seconds and electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Power and torque are available from 5 500 r/min and 2 000 r/min, respectively, and sent to all four corners via the same Tiptronic transmission as the 55 TFSI. The SQ7 has an average claimed fuel consumption figure of 11.9 L/100 km.
The 45 TDI model scheduled to be introduced to our shores later in 2025 employs a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged oil-burner churning out 183 kW and 600 N.m.
