New Renault Duster: Pricing, specs & more!

The new Renault Duster has finally touched down on South African shores, with the local arm of the French firm releasing pricing and specifications for the three-strong third-generation model line-up. See pricing below…

The new Renault Duster is available with the choice of two powertrains, a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 1.2-litre turbo-triple, the latter of which incorporating 48 V mild-hybrid technology. Indeed, the 1.5 dCi diesel unit has been ditched.

Models powered by the 113 kW/250 N.m 1.2-litre unit exclusively feature a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a front-wheel drivetrain. The sole 4WD derivative in the range, the 1.2-litre mild-hybrid variant produces 96 kW and 230 N.m, available from 4 500 r/min and 2 000 r/min, respectively. The all-paw model is exclusively available with a six-speed manual cog swapper. Renault claims average fuel consumption figures of 6.5 L/100 km and 5.7 L/100 km for the 1.2-litre and 1.2-litre mild-hybrid units, respectively.

The third-generation Duster is available with the choice of two trim grades, Zen and Intens. While the three-pot mild-hybrid model is only available with the former level of specification, the four-cylinder derivatives are available in both Zen and Intens.

As standard, Zen spec includes automatic LED headlamps, replete with daytime-running lights, automatic wipers and a set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Further included with Zen level of specification are 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, which incorporates wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring, 7.0-inch digital instrumentation, automatic climate control and a reverse-view camera system.

On top of the aforementioned items, Intens spec gains a 360-degree surround-view camera system, supplemented by front and rear park distance sensors, wireless smartphone charging, an Arkamys 3D sound system and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Driver assistance systems include blind-spot detection.

The Duster is available with the choice of seven exterior paint options. The colour palette includes Sandstone Beige, Terracotta Brown, Cedar Green, Glacier White, Dusty Grey, Mercury Silver and Pearl Black.

As standard, all models ship with a five-year/150 000 km warranty and a service plan spanning three years or 45 000 km.
