Porsche has handed the Cayenne the ‘Black Edition’ treatment, currently available with select SUV- and coupé-styled models.
Recently, Land Rover whipped the wraps off the Land Rover Defender Octa Black, Range Rover Sport SV Black and Range Rover SV Black. Though, this British marque isn’t the only automaker that have introduced a dark colour theme to a few of its products.
Indeed, across The North Sea, another manufacturer, some 1 200 km away from Coventry, has introduced such a theme to its SUV portfolio. And it’s none other than Stuttgart-based Porsche.
Indeed, Porsche has revealed the Cayenne Black Edition derivatives, each sporting several high-gloss black exterior finishes, including for the Porsche badge and model denomination, front facia, and side mirrors. At the same time, the interior features brushed black elements, while gaining upgraded equipment.
The Black Edition package can currently be had with the “entry-level” Cayenne, Cayenne e-hybrid and Cayenne S e-hybrid in SUV and Coupé style. As a reminder, the Cayenne employs a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol producing 260 kW and 500 N.m of torque, allowing for a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.0 seconds, or 5.7 seconds when specifying the optional Sport Chrono package. The top speed is quoted at 248 km/h.
The 224 kW/420 N.m and 260 kW/500 N.m 3.0-litre turbocharged V6s of the e-hybrid and S e-hybrid are coupled with a 130 kW electric motor for combined system outputs of 346 kW/650 N.m and 382 kW/750 N.m, respectively. According to the Stuttgart automaker, the e-hybrid and S e-hybrid completes the obligatory 0-100 km/h dash in 4.9 seconds and 4.7 seconds, respectively, before topping out at respective top speeds of 254 km/h and 263 km/h.
