New Aston Martin Vanquish Volante unleashed!

Revealed in 2024, the new Aston Martin Vanquish is arguably one of the most beautifully designed vehicles ever produced. It’s a stunning piece of machinery. Now, the British luxury marque has unveiled the new Vanquish Volante.

Like the coupé, the Vanquish Volante employs Aston Martin’s 5.2-litre V12. The twin-turbocharged petrol unit produces a staggering 614 kW, available from 6 500 r/min, and 1 000 N.m of torque, the full complement of which is on tap from 2 500 r/min to 5 000 r/min. An eight-speed automatic transmission transfers drive to the rear wheels.

According to the automaker, the drop-top Vanquish is just 0.1 seconds slower to the three-figure marker from a standstill than the coupé model (3.4 seconds vs 3.3 seconds). Considering the Vanquish Volante’s 95 kg weight penalty over the coupé, its 0-100 km/h time is an impressive feat.   In addition, the Vanquish Volante’s top speed matches the coupé’s 345 km/h.

“The drive to ensure [the] Vanquish Volante delivered the same class-leading performance as the Vanquish coupé meant that, from inception, the engineering team worked on both coupé and Volante simultaneously, allowing us to retain the dynamic capabilities and character of [the] Vanquish coupé with no compromise upon removing the roof,” said Simon Newton, Director of Vehicle Performance and Attributes at Aston Martin.

The drivetrain features five selectable driving modes: ‘Wet’, ‘GT’, ‘Sport’, ‘Sports Plus’ and ‘Individual’, the latter of which allowing the driver to tailor calibration of the drivetrain, steering and chassis to their desired preferences.

The Vanquish Volante’s svelte sheet metal wraps around a set of 21-inch forged alloy wheels, wrapped in bespoke Pirelli P Zero rubber. The P Zero AML items measure 275/35 and 325/30 in size, front and rear.

Sited behind the wheels are six-piston front and four-piston rear alloy brake callipers, which form part of the Vanquish Volante’s carbon-ceramic braking system. The fore and aft carbon-ceramic brake discs measure 410 mm and 360 mm, respectively.

The Vanquish Volante measures 1 296 mm in height, 2 044 mm in width and 4 850 mm in length. The wheelbase spans 2 885 mm. Aston Martin claims the 1 880 kg (dry) convertible has a front/rear weight distribution of 49/51.
