So, for starters, what sets this model apart from its “standard” sibling? Well, the answer is in its name, really. This Range Rover Sport features a raft of black exterior elements, ranging from its exterior paintwork, badging, 23-inch alloy wheels, brake callipers, quad exhaust outlets, and interior.
The Range Rover Sport SV employs a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol powertrain, which is paired with an eight-speed automatic cog swapper — the latter sending 467 kW and 750 N.m of twisting force to all four corners as soon as the rev needle edges the 6 000 r/min and 1 800 r/min markers, respectively.
However, when activating Dynamic Launch mode, an additional 50 N.m is available to allow the most powerful Range Rover Sport to dispatch the 0-100 km/h dash in just 3.7 seconds — impressive for an SUV that tips the scales at nearly 2.5 tonnes. The top speed is 290 km/h.

Priced from R3 671 500, the Range Rover Sport SV Black is R118 200 more expensive than the “standard” model. Included in this performance SUV’s asking price are a five-year/100 000 km maintenance plan and five-year/100 000 km warranty.
