Ferrari Amalfi Unveiled: Meet the Roma’s 470 kW Replacement

Meet the Ferrari Amalfi, the Roma’s replacement. Here’s what you need to know about the latest Prancing Horse…

Sited below the Amalfi’s elongated bonnet is a 3.9-litre V8, codenamed F154. The front-mid-mounted twin-turbocharged petrol unit produces 470 kW and 760 N.m of twisting force, the latter available in a broad 3 000 r/min to 5 750 r/min swathe of the rev band. The full complement of power is on tap as soon as the rev needle edges the 7 500 r/min marker. Producing 14 kW more than Roma, the Amalfi’s more powerful F154 powertrain is coupled with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

According to Ferrari, the latest rear-wheel-driven Prancing Horse sprints to the three-figure marker from a standstill in only 3.3 seconds, with 0-200 km/h dispatched in 9.0 seconds. Were you fortunate enough to have access to an ungoverned stretch of road, the Amalfi will top out at 320 km/h.

The Ferrari Amalfi is aimed at those seeking a car that combines elegance and performance, emotion and functionality.

Stopping power is provided by 390 mm and 360 mm brake discs, fore and aft, sited behind 20-inch alloy wheels. The front and rear alloys are shod in 245/35 and 285/35 rubber. Ferrari claims the Amalfi is brought to a standstill from 200 km/h and 100 km/h over 119.5 metres and 30.8 metres, respectively.

Finished in Verde Costiera, a brilliant teal green inspired by the reflections of the sea along the Amalfi coast, the Amalfi’s bodywork incorporates several aerodynamic elements, including an active rear wing, to ensure it remains glued to the tarmac.

The Amalfi’s svelte coupé profile measures 4 660 mm in length, making it 4 mm longer than the sports car it replaces, while its 2 760 mm wheelbase, 1 974 mm width and 1 301 mm height are the same as the Roma’s.

The Amalfi’s dual-cockpit cabin features a 15.6-inch digital instrument binnacle, a 10.25-inch, touch-enabled infotainment screen,  and a 8.8-inch passenger display. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto screen mirroring is standard fitment, while customers have the option of specifying a Burmester audio system. Wireless smartphone charging is included in the package.
