New Suzuki Swift gains dual-tone paint options

Launched in November 2024, the local fourth-generation Suzuki Swift range’s exterior colour palette comprised seven paint options: Luster Blue Pearl, Novel Orange Pearl, Black Pearl, Splendid Silver Pearl, Magma Grey Metallic, Sizzling Red Metallic and Arctic White Pearl.

However, now, to give customers the option of enhancing the visual panache of their Swifts, Suzuki Auto South Africa has announced a trio of new dual-tone exterior paint options for the box-fresh Swift. Customers now have the choice of specifying their Arctic White Pearl, Luster Blue Pearl and Sizzling Red Pearl Swifts with a contrasting Black Pearl roof.

Said Brendon Carpenter, Brand Marketing Manager at Suzuki SA, “A large part of the fourth-generation Swift’s appeal is down to its exterior design language […] These new dual-tone paint options – available on GL, GL+ and GLX model grades – massage a little more flair and exclusivity into the mix, and will attract the attention of customers seeking to stand out from the crowd.”

As a reminder, locally, the new Swift is available with a single engine option, a duo of transmission options and a trio of trim grades, starting off with GL level of specification. Suzuki’s (and South Africa’s, in January 2025, for that matter) best-selling passenger car employs a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol powertrain.

The naturally aspirated unit produces 60 kW and 112 N.m of torque, exclusively sent to the front axle via either a five-speed manual cog swapper or continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Japanese automaker claims average fuel consumption figures of 4.4 L/100 km and 4.6 L/100 km for the manual- and CVT-equipped derivatives, respectively.

It is worth noting that the previous-generation Swift Sport is still available on local shores. The Swift Sport is equipped with a 1.4-litre, turbocharged four-pot that is endowed with 103 kW and 230 N.m of twisting force. Drive is sent to the front wheels via the choice of either a six-speed manual gearbox or automatic unit with the same number of cogs. Suzuki claims the sporty Swift completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.0 seconds, before topping out at 205 km/h. The average fuel consumption is rated at 6.1 L/100 km for the manual and auto variants.
