The Mitsubishi Outlander Edition 20 has touched down on South African shores, with the Japanese automaker’s local arm announcing pricing and specs for this anniversary edition model. Only 10 examples will be available in Mzansi.
The ‘Outlander’ moniker made its debut 25 years ago. In celebration of this nameplate’s silver jubilee, Mitsubishi has released an anniversary model, the Outlander Edition 25.
“Edition 25 represents the evolution of a global SUV icon as it combines heritage with premium comfort and cutting-edge technology,” said Lerato Nonyane, General Manager of Product and Marketing at Mitsubishi Motors South Africa.
The Outlander Edition 25 is distinguished from its stablemates via several model-specific design elements, which includes “smooth” new detailing for the front grille, a revised front skid guard, and “smoked” taillamp lenses. The Outlander Edition 20 is fitted with a set of unique 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

How much does the Mitsubishi Outlander Edition 25 cost in South Africa?
Available in extremely limited numbers in South Africa (indeed, only 10 units will be available in our market), the Mitsubishi Outlander Edition 25 is priced from R819 995, which includes a five-year/90 000 km service plan and a three-year/100 000 km warranty.

The interior features a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, which incorporates Apple CarPlayAndroid Auto screen mirroring and sat-nav, and a digital driver’s display of similar size. An eight-speaker Yamaha audio system and a panoramic sunroof are also included with the package.
Shared with its stablemates, the Outlander Edition 25 employs the same 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine and Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) drivetrain. As a reminder, the naturally aspirated powertrain is endowed with 135 kW and 245 N.m of torque — the former and latter available from 6 000 r/min and 3 600 r/min, respectively. The S-AWC setup is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Japanese automaker says the powertrain sips 8.1 L/100 km on average. Matching the firm’s claim translates to a driving range of over 670 km on a single, full 55-litre tank of fuel. The top speed is rated at 187 km/h.
