Isuzu Motors South Africa has expanded the range of colours available with its range-topping D-Max models.
Isuzu Motors South Africa has announced the introduction of a brand-new hue to the colour palettes available with the D-Max V-Cross and D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 … and it comes in the shape of Onyx Black, which joins Splash White, Mercury Silver, Islay Grey, Desert Orange, Red Spinal, and Biarritz Blue as the seventh available colour option with these two double-cab models.
“Based on the success of the recently launched MU-X Onyx XT and the X-Rider Black in Onyx Black, we’ve had keen customer interest in adding the black colour option to the range-topping D-Max models,” said Kevin Fouché, Department Executive of Product Planning at Isuzu Motors South Africa.

As a reminder, V-Cross specification can be had with 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains — the latter exclusively paired with the Japanese automaker’s trusted 3.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The long-standing oil-burner churns out 140 kW and 450 N.m of twisting force, available from 3 600 r/min and 1 600 r/min, respectively. D-Max V-Cross models are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. Isuzu claims average fuel consumption figures of 7.9 L/100 km and 8.1 L/100 km for the 4×2 and 4×4 variants, respectively.
Spearheading the D-Max model portfolio, the D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 is based on the 4×4 D-Max V-Cross, though gains several upgrades for enhanced off-road capability. The latter includes beefed-up bodywork courtesy of a wide bodykit and, housed within the massive wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 35-inch rubber. Employing the same 3.0-litre oil-burner, with the same outputs, as the D-Max V-Cross models and a 4×4 drivetrain, the beefier D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 has a claimed average fuel consumption 8.5 L/100 km.
The 4×2 D-Max V-Cross and 4×4 D-Max V-Cross are priced from R885 100 and R934 900, respectively. The D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 is priced from R1 194 000. As standard, pricing includes a five-year/90 000 km service plan and a warranty spanning the same duration or 120 000 km.
