How much does the Dayun Yuehu S5 cost in South Africa?
Comprising a duo of derivatives, the local Dayun Yuehu S5 line-up is priced from R399 900 and R449 900 for the Standard and VIP variants, respectively. Included in the asking prices are a service plan of three years or 60 000 km and a warranty spanning the same time and distance, and a five-year/120 000 km warranty for the city SUV’s battery.

What powers the Dayun Yuehu S5?
Of course, as it is an EV, the Dayun Yuehu S5 is powered by an electric motor, coupled with a battery. The former, which is mounted at the front of the compact SUV, produces 35 kW and 105 N.m of torque, while the latter, lithium-ion unit has a capacity of 31.7 kWh. The firm claims an electric range of 330 km when the battery pack is fully charged, the latter of which takes “about” four hours when plugged into an AC charging station. However, according to the company, a 20% to 80% DC fast charge takes less than an hour.

As mentioned, two trim grades are on offer, Standard and VIP. As standard, the Dayun Yuehu S5 package includes a 7.0-inch infotainment system, 8.0-inch digital instrument binnacle, climate control, a reverse-view camera system, automatic cruise control, automatic headlamps, and tyre pressure monitoring. Safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, Isofix child-seat anchorages, ABS, EBD, and hill-start assist.
