Chery’s local line-up comprises a total of 15 models, made up of the Tiggo 4 Pro, which we’ve driven earlier in 2024, Tiggo 7 Pro, and Tiggo 8 Pro. However, soon, a brand-new Tiggo will join the Chinese automaker’s South African portfolio … and it comes in the shape of the Tiggo Cross. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming model…
Scheduled to make landfall on South African shores in November 2024, the Tiggo Cross is positioned between the company’s local best-seller, the Tiggo 4 Pro, which, with 1 072 units sold in August 2024 was one of the best-selling crossover/SUVs in South Africa in the eighth month of the year, and Tiggo 7 Pro.
We can say we’re extremely confident that buyers will appreciate the value this stylish new model will offer.
Although much — such as pricing, detailed specification, and pricing — about the Tiggo Cross is yet to be revealed (be sure to keep an eye on Other People’s Cars for the latest information on the newcomer), Chery South Africa has announced that, like the other models in its product portfolio, the Tiggo Cross will be offered with the brand’s 10-year/1 million km warranty (as a reminder, this warranty remains in place only for the initial owner of the vehicle).
The firm has, however, divulged some additional information on the upcoming crossover/SUV’s exterior design and interior. The Tiggo Cross’ front end is characterised by a “bold” diamond-patterned grille. The latter item is flanked by “attention-grabbing”, tapered LED headlamp clusters. ‘Round back, the taillamp arrays, replete with light bar spanning the tailgate, look similarly sleek. Chery says the latter adds a “particularly distinctive” light signature at night.
“We’re pleased to confirm that the new Tiggo Cross, recently introduced to South Africans at the Festival of Motoring, will, indeed, be on local roads before the end of the year.
