So, what does each package include? Well, Adventure spec features such items as a 7.0-inch infotainment system, replete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring, and rear park distance sensors, to name but a few standard items. On top of these items, the Adventure + S gains a sunroof, reverse-view camera, rain-sensing wipers, keyless start, a front armrest, and roof rails.

Accomplished + and Creative + spec feature wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless smartphone charging bay, cruise control, an illuminated glovebox with cooling function, and LED lamps. Accomplished + and Creative + roll on 15-inch ‘hyper’ style wheels and 16-inch diamond-cut alloys, respectively.

The Punch is exclusively available with the firm’s Revotron engine. The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol unit produces 65 kW and 115 N.m of torque, available from 6 000 r/min and 3 350 r/min, respectively. Tata claims average fuel consumption figures of 5.3 L/100 km for the manual models and 5.6 L/100 km for the derivatives equipped with the AMT.

“The Tata Punch is a testament to Tata Motors passenger vehicles commitment to offering South Africans the safest and most stylish vehicles in all segments,” says Thato Magasa, CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Distributor. “Compact yet commanding, the Punch brings the SUV experience to urban drivers without compromise,” he adds.
