Mazda Southern Africa has introduced several updates to its CX-60 portfolio. Here’s what you need to know.
The flagship model in Mazda’s South African line-up, the CX-60 has received several updates, with the local arm of the Japanese automaker announcing pricing and specs for the revised range.
How much does the updated Mazda CX-60 cost in South Africa?
The updated Mazda CX-60 is priced from R706 700 for the 2.5 Dynamic model, R888 700 for the 2.5 AWD Individual, and R1 085 100 for the flagship, 3.3D MHEV AWD Takumi derivative. Pricing includes a five-year/unlimited km warranty and five-year/unlimited km service plan.
- Mazda CX-60 2.5 Dynamic – R706 700
- Mazda CX-60 2.5 AWD Individual – R888 700
- Mazda CX-60 3.3D MHEV AWD Takumi – R1 085 100

So, what does each package include? Well, for starters, the 2.5 Dynamic features such items as leather-trimmed seats, a panoramic sunroof, electrically operated tailgate, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The mid-spec, 2.5 Individual model ships with a 12-speaker Bose sound system, 360-degree surround-view camera system, and the firm’s facial recognition Driver Personalisation System, which automatically adjusts the driver’s seat, wing mirrors, climate control, and infotainment to the driver’s preferences.
The range-topping, Takumi derivative plays host to a 12-inch, touch-enabled infotainment system with sat-nav, 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver assistance systems such as lane-keep assist and rear cross traffic alert.
As a reminder, the 2.5 derivatives’ naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine produces 141 kW and 261 N.m of torque, the latter available from 3 000 r/min. The 2.5-litre atmospheric unit is exclusively coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which sends drive to the front wheels in the Dynamic model and all four corners in the Individual variant. Mazda claims average fuel consumption figures of 7.3 L/100 km and 7.7 L/100 km for the former and latter, respectively.
The Takumi’s 3.3-litre electrified inline-six turbodiesel motor churns out 187 kW and 550 N.m, which is on tap from a mere 1 500 r/min. Power is sent to the front and rear axle. Mazda claims an average fuel consumption of 4.9 L/100 km.
“The CX-60 marks a significant evolution for Mazda. It’s not just an SUV, it’s a declaration of intent. With premium features, electrified performance, and a focus on safety, this vehicle is designed to meet the needs of our most discerning drivers,” said Deolinda Da Costa, head of marketing and communications at Mazda Southern Africa.
