Haval has handed the Jolion Pro, one of the Chinese automaker’s best-selling products locally, a few exterior and interior updates. Here’s what you can expect, including pricing.
So, what’s new? Well, in short, the Jolion Pro has gained a smoked black package, which adds “definition” to the front grille, window trim, and rear diffuser. The interior now features “enhanced” wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring, “improved” 50 W wireless smartphone charging, and USB-C ports. Voice command has also been added. A thicker steering wheel is also present.
The Jolion Pro is available with three engine options: a 1.5-litre (1 497 dm³), four-cylinder turbocharged petrol producing 103 kW and 210 N.m of torque, a 130 kW/270 N.m 1.5-litre (1 499 dm³) turbocharged petrol motor with the same number of cylinders, and an HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain that pairs the latter internal combustion engine (ICE) with an electric motor for combined power and torque outputs of 140 kW and 375 N.m.
Coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the least powerful of the trio has a claimed average fuel consumption of 8.1 L/100 km, while the non-electrified 1.5-litre unit employed by the ’S’-badged derivative sips a claimed 7.5 L/100 km on the combined cycle. The HEV variant’s traditional hybrid system has a claimed average fuel consumption of 5.1 L/100 km, allowing for a combined driving range of over 1 000 km on a single, full 55-litre tank of fuel. The HEV powertrain is coupled with a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), which delivers power to the road via the front wheels.
How much does the updated Haval Jolion Pro cost in South Africa?
The updated five-strong Haval Jolion Pro lineup is priced from R392 150 to R521 450. Pricing includes a seven-year/200 000 km warranty and seven-year/75 000 km service plan.
