Audi South Africa has announced that the single RS6 Avant GT heading to local shores is heading to auction, with car number “74” (of the 660 produced globally) scheduled to go under the hammer on 7 November, 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa.

The final pure internal combustion RS6, just like its standard (if there is such as thing, really) RS6 Avant performance sibling, the RS6 Avant GT employs a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8, tuned to produce a healthy 463 kW and 850 N.m of torque, the latter of which is sent to all four corners (via an eight-speed automatic cog swapper) as soon as the digital rev needle edges the 2 300 r/min marker.
The GT is more than just a car; it represents the apex of our engineering excellence.
According to the Ingolstadt-based brand, these figures allow the RS6 Avant GT to sprint to the three-figure marker from a standstill in a “mere” 3.3 seconds, before reaching the 200 km/h marker 8.2 seconds later (at “just” 11.5 seconds). The top speed is rated at 305 km/h (as a reminder, the non-GT RS6 Avant’s maximum speed is electronically governed to 250 km/h, or 280 km/h when ticking the correct box on the options list).

Speaking of options, as standard, the RS6 Avant GT is equipped with a raft of optional items. For example, the pinnacle RS6 Avant is brought to a halt by a set of carbon-ceramic brake discs. Inside, the touch-enabled infotainment display, which incorporate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring, relays tunes via a 1 820-watt, 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. A head-up display is also present. Further included are RS bucket seats.
“The Audi RS6 Avant GT marks the end of an illustrious era for the famed RS6 series. The GT is more than just a car; it represents the apex of our engineering excellence and a legacy of which we are immensely proud,” said Sascha Sauer, Head of Audi South Africa.
