Near the end of 2023, Honda South Africa introduced the fresh-faced Fit Hybrid, replete with several cosmetic enhancements and a boost in power output, to the Southern-most tip of the African continent. Now, the local arm of the Japanese automaker has handed the rest of the range some exterior and interior updates. Here’s what you can expect from the facelifted Fit…

Staying true to Honda’s original Japanese “Yoo no bi” design philosophy, the updates made to the, ahem, updated Fit “create a more cohesive, characterful aesthetic, which reflects the [Fit’s] dynamic personality”, the company says.
The revised Honda Fit is equipped with a honeycomb front grille and “grained” lower front bumper inserts. ‘Round back, the aft bumper features the same finish as the latter and a “more sculpted” appearance”.
Viewed from the side, the pillars and window frames have been handed “stylish” matte-black trim, which, Honda says, seamlessly matches the materials that are used on other surfaces of the hatchback’s bodywork. For example, all grades — Comfort, Elegance, and eHEV — now feature black surrounds for the headlamps’ projector rings. As standard, all models are equipped with LED headlamps, replete with daytime-running lamps.
However, it’s not only the Honda hatch’s exterior that has received some enhancement. The interior, too, has been handed a few upgrades.

Stepping inside (via keyless entry), the revised Fit models sport a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There are also fore and aft park-distance sensors. In addition, each level of specification features Honda’s SENSING suite of driver-assistance systems. This set-up includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, auto high-beam, collision mitigation braking, and road departure mitigation. In addition, the Fit Elegance gains wireless smartphone charging.
So, how much does the updated Honda Fit cost? Well, the range kicks off at R379 900 for entry level Comfort trim. The mid-tier Elegance model is priced from R415 900. The flagship Hybrid eCVT variant will set you back R544 900.
