Citroën has finally introduced the brand-new C3 Aircross to South Africa, with the second model in Citroën’s ‘C-Cubed’ programme — following the launch of the C3, which we’ve driven in 2023 — combining the French firm’s “signature” design language with SUV-like styling, a generous amount of tech as standard and a spacious cabin; all for “unrivalled” value for money in the compact-crossover segment. Citroën C3 Aircross model line-up
At first, the local line-up comprises a duo of derivatives, both of which are exclusively available in Max level of specification and the Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine-based brand’s Puretech turbo-triple. However, customers have the choice of five- and seven-pew seating arrangements. From the fourth quarter of 2024, another variant, available in Plus trim and with the automaker’s 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-pot, will join the range.
Citroën C3 Aircross specifications
The C3 Aircross Max is equipped with a 10-inch touch-enabled infotainment display, replete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen-mirroring functionality. Sited fore the driver, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster is standard fitment. Citroën claims a luggage capacity of 444 litres for the five-seater C3 Aircross Max and “up to” 511 litres for the seven-seater (depending on how the pews are arranged).

Citroën C3 Aircross engines and transmissions
Exclusively employed by the Max models is Citroën’s 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which directs 81 kW and 205 N.m of of torque, the latter available from 1 750 r/min, to the front axle via a six-speed automatic cog swapper. This powertrain has a claimed average fuel consumption of 6.3 L/100 km. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit produces 61 kW and 115 N.m.
How much does the new Citroën C3 Aircross cost in South Africa?
Locally, the five- and seven-seater C3 Aircross Max is priced at R344 900 and R354 900, respectively. The upcoming C3 Aircross Plus derivative’s pricing is yet to be confirmed. As standard, each model ships with the company’s four-year/60 000 km service plan and a warranty spanning five years or 100 000 km.
