Porsche Taycan Turbo GT revealed as most powerful Porsche ever

Imagine this: you are playing Top Trumps and, in your hand, you have the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. With its 560 kW and 1 050 Nm of torque, you’ll surely beat whatever card your opponent has in their deck. Unless…

Unless? Yes. Because, although the Taycan Turbo S, which we sampled in 2020, is plenty powerful and, not to mention, quick, there is now an even more powerful one. Yup, you read that right.

So, yes, play the card. But, if the car you are up against is the Taycan Turbo GT, you will, unfortunately, lose (this round, at least).

See, the Taycan Turbo GT is the most powerful series-production Porsche ever created. It boasts 580 kW. That’s 20 kW more than the Taycan Turbo S. However, that’s not all. Engage launch control and the power output is lifted to a whopping 760 kW or — wait for it — 815 kW for two seconds. That is immense! But what about peak torque output? Well, there’s 1 340 Nm on tap.

According to the German marque, these astounding figures (and they are astounding, to say the least) allows this Taycan to dispatch the 0-100 km/h sprint in a mere 2.3 seconds. However, if that’s not quick enough for you, you can specify the optional Weissach package..

In doing the latter, a tenth of a second is shaved off. The result: 0-100 km/h in 2.2 seconds. That’s hyper-car acceleration! And, what’s more, it’s done in a saloon with space for four.

But that’s not all. Let’s take a look at how quickly the Taycan Turbo GT completes the 0-200 km/h sprint. How quick? Well, in short, as standard, it’s 6.6 seconds.

However, when equipped with the Weissach package, the Taycan Turbo GT reaches the two-tonne marker in only 6.4 seconds. Have we mentioned just how immense this electric vehicle (EV) is? We did. But it’s worth saying again, because it is. It’s immense!

So, how much can you expect to pay for all this power? Well, this Nürburgring lap time record setter is priced from R5 765 00, which includes a three-year Driveplan. Want one? Well, the order books are open. You’ll have to wait until 2025 to get it, though.
