In collaboration with a renowned Italian winemaker, Marchesi Antinori, Maserati has unveiled a one-of-a-kind Grecale.
Italy is renowned for its vino (wine, if your Italian is a bit rusty), but so too for the vehicles originating from it. From Maranello, Ferrari; from Bologna, Lamborghini; and from Modena, Maserati — all lauded nameplates in the automotive world. But it is the latter marque that recently paired the latter with the former to produce a new one-of-a-kind car.
Indeed, Maserati has collaborated with historic wine company Marchesi Antinori to create a bespoke Grecale…and it takes inspiration from one of this Tuscany brand’s wines, Il Bruciato, which is made from “carefully selected” Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes. So, it’s a red, to put it (very) plainly.

“Il Bruciato was first produced in 2002: a complex year, marked by challenges and heavy rain. A modern and accessible new wine was created following this difficult period: an invitation to approach and experience a great wine. As with a great car, what matters is not only technical perfection but the ability to make the everyday exceptional, combining identity, elegance and pleasure. The Grecale Tributo Il Bruciato is a tribute to this essence and to the Bolgheri area,” said Renzo Cotarella, CEO of Marchesi Antinori.
Rather appropriately, the special Maserati you see here is finished in paintwork inspired by red wine. Named Alchimia Scarlatta, this shade, which incorporates Chromaflair pigment, is said to take on myriad different hues depending on the light. The one-off package also features 21-inch alloy wheels (two designs are on offer, with a gloss black finish available as an option), black brake callipers, dual-tone interior upholstery with contrast stitching, and more.
“Grecale Tributo Il Bruciato is the upshot of an exclusive project that has revolved around Maserati’s essence as the epitome of Italian luxury around the world. Produced for the few, almost tailor-made, inspired by tradition, innovation and artisanship 100% made in Italy. An expression of the Maserati Fuoriserie personalisation programme, for our customers to create the car of their dreams: one-offs with the ability to combine unmistakable design, extraordinary performance, prestigious materials and the most extreme and refined creativity,” said Giovanni Perosino, Chief Marketing and Communication Officer at Maserati.
