The local XC90 line-up is available with the choice of two powertrains: a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit incorporating 48 V mild-hybrid technology (B5) and a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo- and supercharged plug-in hybrid (T8). The B5 and T8 units produce peak system outputs of 183 kW and 350 N.m, and 340 kW and 709 N.m, respectively. The Swedish automaker claims the B5 powertrain sips, on average, 8.1 L/100 km, while the T8 has a claimed combined (petrol-electric) fuel consumption of 1.8 L/100 km. The T8 also offers an electric-only driving range of “over” 70 km on a fully charged battery.
