The Renault Triber was introduced to South African in 2020, with over 30 000 customers having put pen to paper for the French automaker’s compact seven-seater since its local market launch. Now, the facelifted model has touched down on our shores. Here’s what you can expect, including pricing and specs.
Priced from a hair below R220 000 for the base-spec model, the revamped range is exclusively available with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 52 kW and 96 N.m of torque. Of the five-strong model line-up, a quartet is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox, with the top-spec, Iconic variant being the sole derivative that can also be had with a five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Renault claims the naturally aspirated unit sips 5.5 L/100 km on average.
The refreshed model sports a revised front grille and bumper, a contoured bonnet, and LED headlamp clusters housing LED daytime-running lights. The interior plays host to such items as 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, replete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring, and 7.0-inch digital instrumentation. Iconic grade gains wireless smartphone charging. Front park distance sensors have been introduced for the first time. Tyre pressure monitoring is also present. As standard, all models feature six airbags.
How much does the facelifted Renault Triber cost in South Africa?
Comprising five models, the updated model range is priced from R218 999 for the entry-level, Evolution variant to R259 999 for the range-topping, Iconic model equipped with an AMT. As standard, the Triber package ships with a two-year/30 000 km service plan and a warranty spanning five years or 150 000 km.
