BMW Group South Africa has whipped the wraps off 325iS Homage edition, an M240i-based limited edition paying tribute to a homegrown hero – the legendary ‘Gusheshe’.
BMW Group South Africa is commemorating the iconic 325iS ‘Gusheshe’ with a limited-run Homage edition based on the M240i xDrive. Now, why base this model, which pays tribute to a special 3 Series, on a 2 Series, we hear you ask? And according to the local arm of the German marque, this makes it the perfect foundation for these South African Homage car.
So, how does the 325iS Homage edition differ from the “standard” M240i xDrive? Well, the celebratory model features a double rear spoiler, heritage-style alloy wheels, BMW’s M Sport Pro package, M Sport seats, a model-specific front splitter, original second-generation Überkaro tartan upholstery for the armrest, black door handles, and a commemorative plaque (1 of 33). Exterior colour options include Mineral White, Sapphire Black, Skyscraper Grey, and Fire Red.
As a reminder, the M240i xDrive employs a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six, which delivers 285 kW and 500 N.m of torque to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.3 seconds.
