Ah, the Porsche 912 Targa … There is no doubt, it is an absolute classic. Iconic. Now, the folks over at KAMManufaktur (KAMM) have handed the 1960s legend a new lease on life, with the Budapest-based company whipping the wraps off a reimagined version of the original. Meet the KAMM 912c Targa. It comes at a price, though…
“As with all KAMM cars, the 912c Targa will be equally at home on the street as it is the track — Miklós Kázmér, founder of KAMManufaktur

To celebrate the launch of its modernised-for-the-new-age Porsche 912 Targa, the firm has created the car you see here. And it is special. Really special. Only a single example of it has (and will be) made. “I wanted to launch the KAMM 912c Targa with a one-off model,” said KAMM founder Miklós Kázmér.
Speaking about the 912c Targa, Kázmér added, “As with all KAMM cars, the 912c Targa will be equally at home on the street as it is the track.” However, according to Kázmér, the KAMM 912c Targa — and life, for that matter — is best enjoyed with an enthusiastic drive to the beach. Considering the latter statement, it is no wonder the company opted to include a roof rack and surfboard with the bespoke 912c Targa.

As with the firm’s Porsche 912 Coupé recreations, every 912 Targa donor vehicle is carefully restored and re-engineered … “to perfection,” KAMM says. The 912c Targa’s body panels are crafted from carbon fibre, as is the distinctive rollover hoop. In addition, for those who want to take their 912c Targa to the track, an FIA-specification roll-cage is available as an option.
But what about the engine? Well, for this model, KAMM has increased the capacity of the original 1.6-litre, air-cooled flat-four unit to 2.0 litres. The upgraded powertrain produces 138 kW and 205 N.m of twisting force.
So, how much can you expect to pay for a KAMM 912c Targa? Well, in short, from €395 000, an eye-watering R7.6 million (or, to be precise, R7 633 635.70) at the current Rand-Euro exchange rate!
