Lexus South Africa has introduced the Urban spec to the LX hybrid. Here’s what’s new.
Exclusively available with the LX 700h derivative, while Overtrail spec is more geared towards adventure, Urban spec prioritises every luxury, the firm says. The LX 700h Urban is fitted with a set of 22-inch alloy wheels, shod in 265/50 R22 rubber, and features several chrome and stainless steel exterior finishes to distinguish it from its siblings. Shimamoku wood trim can be found inside.
The LX 700h Urban is exclusively available with the automaker’s electrically assisted 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol powertrain. The petrol-electric setup produces a combined system output of 341 kW and 790 N.m of torque. Lexus claims an average fuel consumption of 10 L/100 km, which translates to a combined driving range of 1 100 km from the 98-litre fuel tank.
As a reminder, the LX has also be had with a 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine, which churns out 225 kW and 700 N.m of torque, the latter available from a low 1 600 r/min in the rev band. Like the LX 700h variant, power is delivered to all four corners via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
